Nov. 3, 2023 - Almatis, a global leader in alumina solutions, is pleased to announce a substantial investment to increase the capacity of calcined alumina production in North America. The project is designed to boost primary calcined alumina production capacity at its Benton, Arkansas plant. This initiative underscores Almatis' commitment to meeting the increasing demands of its valued customers and enhancing its position as a trusted provider of high-quality alumina products.

The project consists of four distinct phases, all working towards the impressive goal of achieving a capacity increase of 15%. This increase comes in response to projected market demand for specialty lower soda calcines and the introduction of other innovative products into the Almatis calcined alumina portfolio.

The project was officially launched earlier this year, with a primary focus on process and quality improvements to increase production of specialty lower soda calcines.
